He Understands

Sometimes my tears are the nonverbal prayers that my words are unable to articulate.

Not long after I wrote those words, a friend sent me a devotional that confirmed exactly what was on my heart.

✨ It said that God writes down my tears. That each one is an indication that He understands what I’m feeling—even when I don’t have the strength or language to express it. Bottom line: He understands.

We are all walking our own journeys. Each of us has something to contribute to this world. But sometimes, life throws blows so heavy that it feels like everything holding us together is unraveling.

Many times, that’s exactly the place God desires us to be, not because he delights in our breaking, but because He knows we’ll finally stop trying to control what only He can fix. He lets the bottom fall out so He alone can put us back together—and so He alone receives all the glory.

To be honest, that’s where I am right now. My words can’t convey all that my heart feels. So for now, my tears will speak for me.

Why? Because He still understands.
