Demolition Time

As you begin to think of the word "demolition" what comes to mind? For me, I think of pulling down, breaking down, getting rid of something, correct? Well, the definition of demolition from free dictionary.com states its meaning as 1. The act or process of wrecking or destroying, especially destruction by explosives.

When it comes to our minds, negative thinking has the proclivity to wreck our lives. In order for us to live this life of fullness, that comes with uprooting, wrecking, and destroying negative thought processes and ideologies that have kept us in a state of constantly going in circles. 

2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us: 

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"

Every day, and throughout the day, we have a responsibility, and that responsibility outside of 'being', consists of making adjustments in our thinking. The Apostle Paul, who is the author of this particular text, tells us of this responsibility concerning our thoughts. We have to destroy, uproot, demolish- thoughts, and imaginations, that are barriers; those hindering forces; we have to bring them into captivity!

To bring into captivity- is to hold hostage, restrain, and limit movement. Daily, our assignment in this kingdom walk begins with ourselves; our minds, bringing our minds into alignment with GOD'S truth. As God's words enlighten us, the enemy doesn't come with any new tricks. John 10:10 (a) KJV says "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.' That's satans job! And he's on it! So, if satan's on his job, we too have to get on ours, and that begins with getting our minds together! What I love about GOD, is that he doesn't want us to just know what satan's job is, but he leaves us with the remaining part which lets us know, that " I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." As a believer in Christ, we are to live in the abundance of life! Now the quickest way for satan to rob us of abundance is to start a battle within our minds. 

Proverbs 23:7 tells us: "As a man thinks, so is he." Whatever we think and dwell on, we become! If it's something that you're not really feeling about yourself, your life, and what it has become- instead of always focusing on the external, start with looking at the person in the mirror, and the things that you're focused on! Once you identify those thoughts which rob you of your life's purpose and call upon your life, begin to take captive, arrest, uproot, and demolish those negative thoughts! After you have done that, consistently we have to stay in GOD'S Word, to know who and whose we are, and to take on the mind of Christ! 

2 Timothy 3:16 tells us: "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right." God's word corrects and teaches! So it's not enough for us to attend church on Sunday and go to bible study. That's good and all, but we have to really get in GOD'S word for ourselves and allow him to correct and teach us as well. Am I saying that everything will be perfect once doing this? No, by no means. But what I do know, is that as you learn GOD for yourself, cultivate a personal relationship with him, he'll guide you, and help you in this walk. Satan doesn't mind us knowing the word, because he knows the word; it's the application of the word that he's afraid of! Once the word of GOD is applied- breakthrough and deliverance take place! 

What thoughts have taken up residence in your heart, mind, and spirit, that you need to evict, take captive and demolish?

Take this time, this season to allow GOD to renovate your mind! And remember, this is a daily assignment, this isn't a one-and-done venture! There will be times when you want to waddle in the hurt! Bro, sis, feel those emotions, but don't allow them to control YOU! Address it, take them captive, and demolish them!
